The Carolina Godiva Track Club has a summer track series that meets every Wednesday at 7pm at the UNC Belk Track. They alternate between short and long night with different events for each. They also have an ongoing competition to see if you can collect enough points for the coveted Summer Track Ironman award. Those who complete 36 events over the 12-week series (counting a maximum of four events per meet) earn the award. Short night includes the 1500m, 100m, 1500m racewalk, 400m, and 3000m runs. Long night includes the mile, 200m, one mile racewalk, 800m, and 5000m runs. I was able to attend all but two track nights over the summer and brought the boys as often as possible. They would often run the 100m, 200m, or even 400m events.
