We had so much fun this year as Girls on the Run coaches at Rashkis Elementary. For Halloween we did a bunch of fun relays including an eyeball spoon and egg relay, a mummy relay, and a candy relay. It was awesome. For our mock 5k, we expanded our around the school route and the girls did a fabulous job. We did a community service project where we put together birthday boxes for a local women’s shelter. The idea came from one of the newsletters from the Girls on the Run office and the shelter was so excited when I dropped the boxes off. The girls also enjoyed using the legos from the National sponsor, Lego Friends. Everyone who attempted the Reindeer Romp 5k at the end of the season completed it and most of them even ran faster than they did at the mock 5k. I am excited to coach again in the spring.
